一、Heat Treatment


1. What is the function of heat treatment?

After forming, welding and other processed, the molecular structure, magnetic and physical properties of the metal have changed, and the corrosion resistencce and hardness havebeen restored through heat treatment and solid solution.

2. Superior improvement effect


(1) Elliminate the modification of stainless steel pipe fittings during processing, reduce the hardness to belbow 220HV, improve the plasticity and toughness and the stainless steel fittings more convenient and safe in installation.

(2) Restore the stress and intergranular change during production, reduce the intergranular and stress corrosion and enhance the anti-corrosion ability.

(3) Remove the magnetic properties of stainless steel due to processing.

(4) Restore the natural brightness of the surface of stainless steel.




二、Solid Solution


1. What is the solid solution?

Austenitic stainless steel is softened by heat treatment, the stainless steel is heated to about 950-1150°C then keep warm for a while so that the carbide and various alloying elments are evenly dissolved in austenite.

2. Featured characteristics 


(1) At room temperature, the thermal conductivity is only 27% of carbon steel, the higher the temperature, the smaller the difference in thermal conductivity characteristics, so the heating process should be slow.

(2) Heating to about 1100℃ can inhibit carbides, and then quickly cool to room temperature, greatly improving the corrosion resistance of stainless steel.

(3) Hydrogen protection is used to avoid the formation of sticky iron oxide on the stainless steel surface.


(4)The solid solution should go through the process of heating- insulation- time, the whole process takes about 40 minutes, three vital elements as below.


-Temperature: 950-1150°C

-Solid solution proper time

-Solid solution speed and heat preservation
