How To Correctly Install Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings

Stainless steel butt welding pipe fittings are a kind of pipeline connector with high strength, high sealing and good corrosion resistance. Correct installation and use are crucial to the safe and stable of the pipeline.

1. Preparation before installation

(1) Prepare the pipes and fittings according to the pipe connection drawings and specified requirements.

(2) Check whether the pipe opening, pipe straightness, size, shape, etc. meet the requirements. If not, it is necessary to use on-site cutting, hole expansion, grinding and other processing methods to correct it.

(3) Check whether the pipe fittings, sealing gaskets, bolts and other parts meet the requirements and whether there is any damage or misuse.

(4) The lubricating oil should be of appropriate grade. Grease or lubricant that damages the pipe or seal is not allowed.

2. Pre-welding preparation

(1) Select appropriate welding power source, welding wire, electrode, etc. according to the pipe diameter and wall thickness.

(2) Confirm that the welding machine parameters are set correctly, such as welding current, speed, arc length, preheating time, automatic breaking, etc.

(3) Determine the best welding sequence and position according to the pipe size, model, thickness and material to ensure that the pipe weld quality meets the specified standards.

3. Welding process

(1) Welding operations should be carried out under windless conditions to avoid affecting the welding quality.

(2) Before welding, the pipe needs to be pre-treated by cutting, grinding, etc. to ensure that the welding joint is flat and the surface finish is good.

(3) When welding, auxiliary equipment such as welding sets and welding control devices should be used to ensure the quality of the weld.

(4) When welding, a certain welding speed and current should be maintained to avoid excessively fast or slow welding speeds and excessively high or low currents that may cause poor welding quality.

(5) After welding is completed, the weld quality must be inspected, such as X-ray inspection, ultrasonic inspection, radioactive inspection, etc.

4. Post-installation treatment

(1) After the pipeline is welded, a high-pressure water pressure test or air pressure test should be carried out to verify the tightness of the connection between the pipeline and the pipe fittings.

(2) Painting and tying insulation materials should be carried out after the pipeline is installed to avoid affecting the quality of pipeline welding and installation.

(3) During the use of the pipeline, the sealing of the pipeline joints should be checked frequently. If leakage or other problems occur, they need to be repaired in time.
